Continuous patrol
One drone maintains a configurable orbit, adapting to heading, speed, weather, and nearby traffic.
AUTONOMOUS AERIAL WATCH
A shipborne drone system that maintains continuous awareness around vessels at sea—one aircraft patrols while the other charges.
01 / THE SYSTEM
EvaX turns two autonomous aircraft, a weatherized deck station, and an onboard edge computer into one continuous watch system—built around the vessel, not a remote control room.
One drone maintains a configurable orbit, adapting to heading, speed, weather, and nearby traffic.
The relief aircraft charges on deck and takes over before the active drone reaches reserve power.
The onboard Pi connects to MAVLink-compatible aircraft, coordinates missions, analyzes detections, and runs the bridge dashboard locally.
Alerts, health data, and evidence stream to shore in real time—or synchronize later if the connection drops.
02 / HOW IT WORKS
A coordinated two-aircraft cycle preserves coverage without asking the crew to manage every launch or battery decision.
03 / ONE PLATFORM, TWO VIEWS
Crews see what matters now. Shore managers see patterns across every vessel. Both work from the same synchronized operational picture.
04 / EDGE + CLOUD ARCHITECTURE
A ruggedized Raspberry Pi hosts the bridge dashboard, mission coordinator, local event store, and detection services. Each drone retains its own flight controller and safety logic; the Pi coordinates the mission rather than replacing the aircraft autopilot.
Explore system architecture →05 / BRIDGE-AUTHORIZED RESPONSE
When EvaX identifies a critical maritime hazard, it assembles the vessel identity, verified position, incident type, and visual evidence into a ready-to-review escalation. The bridge remains in command at every step.
06 / BUILT FOR OPERATIONS
The Pi runs the local web dashboard, mission coordinator, event queue, health monitoring, and encrypted cloud synchronization without requiring a permanent internet connection.
MAVLink 2 heartbeats, GPS, battery, and system-health telemetry connect compatible aircraft to the onboard gateway, with optional signed-packet enforcement.
Mission parameters adapt to wind, precipitation, visibility, vessel motion, and configurable recovery thresholds.
Certified DSC/GMDSS radio integration can prepare a digital distress alert and the Channel 16 follow-up workflow. Two distinct onboard confirmations are required before live transmission.
The system detects, records, and recommends. Crew and authorized shore personnel retain operational decision-making authority.
Timestamped media, telemetry, AIS, weather, and system health synchronize to the cloud with acknowledgement and chain-of-custody history.
